I Need Your HELP!

Hi Everyone,

I am so excited to be participating on the #GivingTuesday fundraising campaign to support the San Diego County Breastfeeding Coalition!

My little Edward was tongue tied and he was not able to breastfeed for a long time. Ann Russell, my Lactation Consultant taught me how to protect my milk supply and informed me that I could borrow a good pump from the WIC agency so little Edward could still drink my milk. She helped me through the frenectomy procedure and back to the breast— a long, difficult process for us. She supported me when I was exhausted, confused and scared. I could not have overcome the challenges without the support of my amazing Lactation Consultant, the WIC program and La Leche League, amongst others. 

The Coalition has a scholarship program to increase lactation support in underserved communities. They partner with the UCSD lactation education program to help more students take the required classes. This program is funded by contributions from people like you and I.

Please donate to my campaign page so all babies, mothers and lactating people can have the support they need and deserve.

Every dollar counts! My goal is to raise $600 (enough for one person to receive one scholarship). All donations given on #GivingTuesday (November 30th) will be matched up to $15,000!

Hola Amigos, Vecinos y familiares,

¡Estoy muy emocionada de participar en la campaña de recaudación de fondos #GivingTuesday para apoyar a la Coalición de Lactancia Materna del Condado de San Diego!

Mi pequeño Edward tenía la lengua trabada y no pudo amamantar durante mucho tiempo. Ann Russell, mi asesora de lactancia, me enseñó cómo proteger mi leche materna y me informó que podía pedir prestada una buena bomba en la agencia del programa WIC para que el pequeño Edward todavía pudiera beber mi leche. Ella me ayudó a superar el procedimiento de frenectomía y que mi bebe pudiera regresar al seno, fué un proceso largo y difícil para nosotros. Ella me apoyó cuando estaba exhausta, confundida y asustada. No podría haber superado estos desafíos sin el apoyo de mi increíble Consultora de Lactancia, el programa WIC y La Liga de la Leche, entre otros.

La Coalición tiene un programa de becas para aumentar el apoyo a la lactancia en comunidades de bajos recursos. Junto con el programa de educación sobre lactancia de UCSD ayudan a más estudiantes a tomar las clases requeridas. Este programa está financiado por contribuciones de personas como tú y yo.

San Diego County Breastfeeding Coalitions's #GivingTuesday campaign will support scholarships for UCSD's Lactation Education program in order to increase lactation support in underserved communities.

Our #GivingTuesday campaign will run November 16th through December 1st, 2021. All funds donated during these dates make a HUGE difference but donations given on #GivingTuesday (11/30) will be DOUBLED. That's right! All donations on #GivingTuesday will be matched up to $15,000.

In partnership with UCSD Extension's Global Lactation Alliance Program, SDCBC offers scholarships for community leaders who are pursuing LEC or IBCLC education. Each year the Coalition will announce several scholarship opportunities and select individuals vividly exhibiting a passion to serve San Diego families.

These scholarships are made possible by donations like yours. Let's join together and help raise money for these vital scholarships!
